Fine art prints, Original art and Colourful art gifts by Tina Maher, watercolour Artist living in Townsville Australia.

Welcome..

Thank you for stopping by for a peek into the wonderful world of watercolour and gouache !

Be it your favourite landscape that holds cherished memories or the architectural details and charm that make your house a home, hand drawn images are painted into colourful watercolour illustrations that create lasting memories.

Each piece of original art is hand painted in my garden studio in Townsville, Queensland, Australia and is created to give you a beautiful selection of original paintings, art prints and more. Being a Townsville local with a love for our region, you will find sunshine filled illustrated artworks that represent our tropical lifestyle.

I passionately encourage others to discover their own creativity.

I believe we are all born creative, some of us are just more practiced.

Behind the scenes as I create in my garden studio.

Drawing and painting with pencils and watercolours are a great way to relax. Sketchbooks are a favourite way to work on small pieces that are not overwhelming to create in, after all it is only one page ! They are great to travel with as they come in small handy sizes that fit in a small bag along with a few pencils and you are ready to go.

My Favourite Supplies..

Here are some of my favourite art supplies…. of course you don’t need them all to be able to get creative… you just need to start !

  1. Pencils: Hb pencil or clutch pencils. If you like you can add a few coloured pencils to your kit for fun !

  2. Watercolour Paper : Hot or cold press (I prefer the smooth surface of hot press)

  3. Watercolour Paints : Student grade are fine to start with, you’ll want a small set with both warm and cool colours so you can mix your own. Over time you will want to pick up a few good quality paint tubes to try.

  4. Paint Brushes : I prefer round, synthetic NEEF brand with a nice point in a few sizes, no4,no6, no8 will get you started.

  5. Water Dish ; A clean jar works a treat, I have two on the go at once, one for cleaning brushes and one for mixing and adding to fresh paint.

  6. Paper Towel ; or a clean dry cloth to wipe your brush on to remove excess water.

  7. Palette : A simple white china plate will work for this. Watercolour can be re wet and used again later. The plate makes for easy clean up too.

I hope you find this helpful !
